Alex Kennedy Strong in NASCAR Camping World West Debut

Aztec, NM (June 24, 2008)-Sixteen-year-old Alex Kennedy overcame adversity and a strong field to post an outstanding eleventh place finish at Infineon Raceway. While this talented youngster from Aztec, NM is no stranger to Infineon’s twists and turns, this was his first start in stockcars at one of the country’s most technical road courses. “The car sputtered coming up the hill on that last lap or I would have been tenth,” said Alex after the race. “It was amazing driving a stockcar here for the first time.” Alex started shotgun on the field due to unapproved changes that were needed after qualifying and raced his way to the top ten. Alex usually pilots the No. 37 car for Spraker Racing Enterprises but teamed up with TJ Clark for the Infineon race. Next up for this exciting youngster is NASCAR Camping World East action at Thompson International Speedway on July 12th. Select races this year will prepare Alex Kennedy for the full season in the Camping World East series next year. Valuable sponsorship positions are still available for Thompson and next season. Meet Alex Kennedy

In 2006 Alex Kennedy was featured on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” show interviewed by Mike Massaro for a special about young drivers. “I can’t drive to Sonic to get a cheeseburger but I can drive a racecar,” said Alex. Since that interview Alex has been named National Ambassador for Dream Factory Inc and became the youngest driver to post a podium finish in ASALMS history. Nicknamed the “New Mexico Rising Star” back at his home track of Sandia Motorsports Park, Alex has been signed by Spraker Racing Enterprises to their driver development program. (
