15-year-old Alex Kennedy (15) continues his quest for the 2007 ASA Late Model Series Northern Division Rookie of the Year title this Sunday Afternoon at the Grundy County (IL) Speedway in Morris, Illinois for the extended distance 1st annual Bob Milner Memorial 125 Presented by Bailey’s Carpet One. Aztec, New Mexico (09/07/2007): 15-year-old ASA Late Model Series driver Alex Kennedy has had an interesting summer! Just the past 15 days has been an adventure with Alex trying out three different kinds of late models on five different tracks for three different car owners in that short span.

After posting a career best third place finish in ASALMS action at the Dixie (MI) Motor Speedway and becoming the youngest driver in series history to post a podium finish, it was on to Owosso Speedway where he would post the quickest time in the first practice! After rain washed out the race it was time to head back to his home track of Sandia Motorsports Park where he won his heat race.

Then it was off to Race City USA to test in a UARA Stars car for ARCA driver Alex Yontz. Testing at historic the Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway and posting times almost identical to a driver already racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series was quite an accomplishment!

Then it was time to hop on another plane to head to Cedar Rapids for last weeks Hawkeye 100 Presented by Coors Light and Cassill Motors at the Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Alex was challenging for fourth place when he was sent to the back for getting involved in a spin that brought out yet another caution flag on a wreck-plagued night of racing.

This week Alex Kennedy will attend the ARCA RE/MAX race in Chicago cheering on Alex Yontz before racing at the Grundy County (IL) Speedway the next afternoon in the 1st annual Bob Milner Memorial 125 Presented by Bailey’s Carpet One. You can hear all the action live on: RaceTalkRadio.com and cheer Alex on to victory as this road warrior tackles another new track!

Meet Alex Kennedy: Aztec, New Mexico’s Alex Kennedy had an adventurous 2006 season. Starting the year in Legends cars at the Las Vegas Road Course in January, he would have never guessed that he would end the season making his debut in the ASA Late Model Series in Nashville.

ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” show would even feature Alex during a special about young drivers! Nicknamed the “New Mexico Rising Star” at his home track of Sandia Motorsports Park, Alex lived up to that moniker with more firsts last season. Alex was named a National Ambassador for Dream Factory Inc in the off-season and became the youngest driver in ASALMS series history to post a podium finish!

About Dream Factory INC.: The Dream Factory, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) organization) was founded in 1980 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, by Charles Henault, a South Central Bell employee, who wanted to create a volunteer organization dedicated to granting the dreams of children with critical or chronic illnesses.

Currently, there are more than 30 chapters across the United States with over 5,000 volunteers who work to produce and deliver dreams, visit children and their families in the hospital and their homes, arrange special celebrations and conduct fundraising events for individual children.

This volunteer support ensures that the maximum percentage of donations are used for the procurement and distribution of dreams. “I feel so proud to represent Dream Factory Inc and bring racing to these kids that don’t get to do the fun stuff I get to do,” said Alex Kennedy.
